Positive reinforcement is a science-proven method rooted in behavioral psychology and operant conditioning. It focuses on rewarding behaviors we want to see repeated. We use a small handheld device called a clicker as a "bridging stimulus" or marker.
Studies in animal learning science show that dogs learn fastest when feedback is instant. The clicker makes a distinct, sharp sound at the exact millisecond your dog does something right. This tells your dog's brain precisely which behavior earned them a reward (like a high-value treat or toy). By removing the guesswork, science proves that marker-based training builds stronger neural pathways, reduces confusion, and creates a highly cooperative, confident dog.

Absolutely not! Food is used as a powerful tool to teach new skills and build reliable habits. Once your dog completely understands a behavior and performs it reliably, we phase out the continuous treats and transition to real-world rewards—like opening the front door, throwing a ball, or going for a sniff. We want a dog that listens to you, not just a dog that listens to a tasty treat!

Through Enrichment Dog Training, I specialize in puppy socialization, loose-leash walking foundations, reliable recall, polite manners (stopping jumping/door bolting), and cooperative vet care.
Please note: I do not take on severe behavioral cases involving dog-on-human aggression, severe resource guarding, or intense separation anxiety. If your dog requires a clinical behavior modification plan, I am happy to refer you to a trusted regional specialist.

No, you do not need to be home! This is a premium convenience service where I come to your home, pick up your dog, and handle the intensive training walk for you. It is perfect for busy professionals. After our walk, you will receive a video clip of your dog's progress and a quick breakthrough text detailing exactly what we worked on so you can easily maintain those skills.
